Serendipity is the occurence and development of events by chance in a happy or beneficial way. I looked up the word on the Internet, and I found out that it was serendipity that led to the discovery of penicillin, blasting gelatin, and polyethylene. It also led to the discovery of the cosmic microwave background radiation—whatever that was. The serendipity I had in mind was nothing compared to those!

When I hear the word serendipity, feelings of delight, tranquility, and bliss come to mind. When I hear the word serendipity,Leaves3_2 I see myself leisurely walking down a path lined with dozens and dozens of trees. I am in deep thought, thinking of how I could mend a problem. But then a soft breeze blows, and the leaves begin to fall. Small, round, brilliant leaves. More and more come showering down like rain, forming heaps on the ground. It is beautiful. I look around, but nobody else seems to notice but me. Without hesitation, I then throw my bag into the air, run to where the trees are, and marvel at the graciously falling leaves. At that moment as I was swirling about with my head looking upward and my arms swinging freely, I feel my worries fly away with every gush of wind. Ah, bliss.

But—going back to reality, I didn’t and I couldn’t do that, for not only would I Fallingleaves_1be very late for class, people would think I’m insane as well. Every serendipitous moment was all but a fantasy. In the first place, I wasn’t walking the path at my leisure. I was thinking of how I could reach the classroom in the shortest time possible—I was fifteen minutes late already. As I was scurrying my way, I saw the glorious leaves falling but all that I was able to do was to glance at them with longing.

(Note: tama bang mag-post ng walang ka-kwenta kwentang essay dito?! Wala kasi akong ibang maisip, saka okay lang, wala naman sigurong bumabasa nitong blog na to eh...di ba? di ba? diba?! *winks* hehe! ;-)

First day Funk

I'm using Parokya ni Edgar's song as my blog title not because the song's being played like all over the campus(okay, maybe that was a bit exaggerated, but it was indeed played repeatedly.), but because my first day was really funked-up. Take note that I'm using the word "funk" in this sense:

funk(1) informal
· n. (also blue funk) a state of panic or depression.

Let me summarize the whole experience to you:
It all started when I forgot that it was Tuesday and stupidly thought that it was Monday. (Ooh, can you sense the upcoming tragedy now?) My classes for MTh require me to wake up at 6:30 am and leave the house at 8:00. My classes for my TF classes, however, start 1 1/2 hour earlier, and I have to wake up at 5:00 am and leave at 6:30 am. Since I thought it was Monday... *sighs* You know what happened. I missed my first class. STUPID ME!!!! >:-(
And no, my stupidity didn't end there. The whole time I was still perfectly unaware that it was Tuesday and that I should therefore follow my Tuesday sched. And so, I went to the College of Science auditorium to attend Nat. Sci. 2 (which is, of course, a different section.) I had been listening to the professor and chatting with my seatmate (not at the same time, haha) for about an hour already when the professor requested that we line up and get our classcards. And so, I lined up, brought my form 5 with me, and was even puzzled when the professor said that my name was not on the class list. Too bad I had not overreacted and panicked. If I did, that would have embarassed me more.
"You're in a different section!" announced the professor to the large class. "Now, class, check your Form 5s, you might be overexcited and forget that you don't have nat sci classes until Thursday." I was like, (^_^) (x_x)

I felt my cheeks burn and suddenly just wanted to be invisible. I said a quick goodbye to my seatmate and left the classroom, hoping I wouldn't hear the class burst into laughter right after I closed the door. (And fortunately, they didn't. They must have just thought of how absent-minded I was.) You could imagine how much I hated myself at that time. Banghead I just realized that I had already missed one class, and now I'm going to have to miss another. It was already 11:15 and I felt so drained, so depressed, so in funk by my embarrasing moment that I just wanted to slump down somewhere and eat.
Waaaaaah!!! And I thought my freshie first-day was bad enough! (I had to ask where this and that building was located, and all those freshie questions.) That day is nothing compared to this day. My First Day Funk.

(If you're reading this, please make no mention of this post to anyone, not even to me. I do not want to talk about this anymore.)

Wanna annoy me? I'm sure you do! The following are in no particular order, although they seem to be because I made the list in numbered form... ack. Oh well.

1. Disturb my sleep.
2. Be plastic with me.
3. >>TyPe aNd SpeL WurDz LyK diZ 'cUz U THinK iT's kooL!?!/// (These are SMS stuff. Don't get so used to them, please...)
4. Be a DOM in a pick-up or cargo truck.
5. Be a braggart.
6. Be an insolent know-it-all and blab-it-all.
7. Be a talkative bore.
8. Belittle me and make me feel inferior to you. (I currently have low self-esteem, what a pity.)
9. Give me the 'head-to-feet-and-back-to-head' look.
10. While in a public utility vehicle, be stinky and sweaty and sit beside me.
11. Still while in a public vehicle, specifically in a bus, be very fat, occupy the part of the seat that's supposed to be mine already, and let three-fourths of my butt hang in mid-air. (Okay, so it's not really the fat person's fault, it's mine because I sat next to him/her. But I'm running late and that's the only seat left. What am I to do? Oh well...)
12. Still while in a public vehicle, specifically an FX taxi, smoke just before you enter the cab and let the passengers inhale all the fumes you emit.
13. While serving in a fastfood restaurant, do not understand what the sentence "May I request for assistance, please" means, shoot me an impatient look, and make me say it louder, in Tagalog.
14. While being a "cashier" at a jeepney terminal (lol), mock me for paying a student's fare.
15. Call me by saying "Pssstt" or "Hoy" instead of my name.
16. Throw your trash anywhere, insert bus tickets into the seats or the windows.
17. Hurt an animal. If it's coachroaches or any similar yucky insect though, then it's okay.
18. Tell me I'm ugly. (You don't need to! I know!...that you're lying, lol)
19. While talking, spray me with your spit, or suffocate me with your breath.
20. Laugh maniacally and do all of the above.

(Well what do you know, I do have something else to write about.)
Friendster, yep, the online networking craze, has taken it one step higher--with blogs. I, of course, immediately felt the need to get myself one, although I know that I would probably just post once or twice then forget about it. I hardly have enough time to post about my ever so uninteresting life! lol Besides, I also have short attention span.

This short attention span made me sign-up with a lot of email adds, blogs, and websites--and use them only once. I could remember that my very first email add was with teletubbies.zzn.com... (hey, but I wasn't a fan! I just thought they were cute, that's all.) and then I had this one about Pokemon, then about Fushigi Yuugi, I had accounts @pinoymail.com, @edsamail.com.ph, @i-love-cats.com, @owlmail.net, @hpfans.net, @everyone.net, @myownemail.com, @hotmail.com, @yahoo.com, @gmail.com, and others that I've forgotten already. As for my sites, they're not as many as my email adds, there are actually only two of them. One's got a .co.nr domain from Angelfire (enter at your own risk!) and the other one's from Geocities with a .TK domain(I'm not posting the link for this one.). Okay, so where were we? Ah, Blogs. Blogs, blogs, blogs. I have only three. One's at LiveJournal, the dumpsite of all my personality test results, and the other one, aside from this one at BlogSpot, is at Friendster.

Okay, so now, we've reached our topic: Friendster Blogs. Err........ couldn't think of anything else to say! haha! bye now.... April Fools!
